UNIVERSAL STUDIOS PAGE !!

Universal Studios was almost as good as MGM. Getting there was easy, it was only about 15 minutes away from the Magic Kingdom, and you park in a covered garage. Then they have these neat flat escalators so you don't have to walk, just stand there and they take you to the park. Of course there is allot of walking, because they are still under major construction, so there is more to come at Universal. The scariest ride there for sure was the Back to the Future ride, I thought we were going to fall out of the Delorian in the middle of the ride, it was so real, you have to experience it to understand! They also had a Jaws Adventure which was a little fake but still pretty good. You actually ride in the boat in the lagoon and jaws keeps appearing closer and closer until....you'll have to see that too! I loved the Kongfrontation ride, that was done very well, it seemed so real!!! And everyone was screaming big time. The Terminator 3D was awesome too, not only is it up on the screen but they have live people on stage in between to make it more real life, it's an incredible battle that you really feel part of. Of course the kids wanted to skip Barney..God forbid they should show their face in there!!! They only wanted to do one thing and that was NICKELODEON!!!! What a riot that was, the Nick studios are right there at Universal, they do the filming and all for Double Dare, and all the Nick shows. They were doing game testing when we came through and how lucky could our kids get !!! They BOTH got picked to play a game. They were great, and Chris and Brian loved this part of the park the most...for sure!!! Outside the Nick Studios, they had a round park area, that had the big slime machine oozing the green stuff all over the place, and also had everyone's favorite kids The Rug Rats pictures in big size, so you could put your kid next to Tommy and Angelica and Chuckie and all the others, at least it gave the kids something to do while waiting to get into the Nick Studios.

We waited in line forever to see ET, and I have to admit it wasn't THAT great, the line was way too long, and we were in a dark and musty room going though the long line. You sat on a bike and it was kinda cool, but the ride was so short compared to the wait. This month at Universal was Mardi Gras month, so we stayed for the big parade that started at 7. The floats and people and music were good, but the kids (and us) loved the throwing of the necklaces and gold (fake) coins down to all of us tourists screaming!!! It was so funny, we all came home with at least 8 shiny baubles around our necks and the boys pockets were jingling with coins. I don't even think the boys saw the parade! All in all we had a great day, and Universal is definately worthwhile.

It's hot out here..time for the water parks!!
